We are seeking a Marketing Operations and Automation Manager to join our national marketing team. In this role, you are a catalyst for our campaign execution, turning ideas into reality and guiding our growth and maturity in all things marketing automation. You’ll be a vital member of our newly formed marketing team that is responsible for driving ticket sales for over 300 events annually. Your day will never be boring! You’ll be automating and executing digital campaigns, managing our data, ensuring tight integration across the marketing stack and tracking campaign results. The ideal candidate will possess an eye for detail, will keep ahead of industry developments, and has a demonstrated ability to scale efforts in a fast-paced environment. This role is based in New York City.
A day in the life of a Marketing Operations and Automation Manager:
Reporting directly to the EVP, Marketing and working closely with our engineering teams you’ll build and drive the performance of a wide range of campaigns.
Serve as the primary Marketo administrator; overseeing the development, implementation and the ongoing management of Marketo platform.
Support our migration from a home grown ESP to Marketo.
Work cross-functionally across the organization to create and maintain marketing automation campaigns, including the production of automated workflows, emails, online forms, landing pages, newsletters etc.
Create segmented lists based on user persona and behavior, including past email, web, or campaign interactions.
Configure, implement and report on marketing campaigns, lead nurturing programs, and lead scoring programs.
Troubleshoot and QA campaigns, workflows, data issues, A/B Tests, nurture campaigns, email deliverability issues and other key marketing ops functions.
Support integration testing and maintenance for key technologies to support programs, events, and digital marketing.
Maintain lead scoring models and work with relevant teams to monitor, review and adjust the models as necessary.
Own Marketo data governance and compliance, ensuring controls are in place for data input, enrichment, data deletion, GDPR, etc.
Help to reconcile data between CRM and marketing systems.
Build, execute and maintain processes for data uploads to Marketo and/or CRM as required.
Monitor and maintain data quality in the database by regular execution of data cleansing processes, appending and development of new methods as needed.
Monitor and remediation of naming convention of campaigns, the requirements of leads/contacts/accounts information, and guidelines and best practices.
Analyze, monitor and maintain reporting on campaign performance metrics for Marketing team members and executives.
Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders and business marketing teams to improve back-end tracking, reporting and results.
Measure results and drive optimization of our marketing automation efforts.
Maintain data quality across our marketing systems and develop best practices and guidelines.
Partner with team members to ensure objectives are administratively supported and managed effectively for timely completion.
Identify, recommend and integrate solutions to enhance stack.
Work with engineering team to identify any gaps in the current process and proactively resolve the issues and make recommendations to improve process.
Support the planning and implementation of projects handled by the marketing team.
Tools You Already Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
5+ years in an automation, operations, or campaign management role
3+ years operational experience with Marketo required; Marketo certification preferred
3+ experience with data hygiene and appending
Experience operating within GDPR, CAN-SPAM, CASL and/or other compliance frameworks
Comfortable editing and adjusting HTML email and landing pages; ability to write HTML independently preferred
Flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment to meet multiple deadlines and maintain close attention to detail
Ability to improve business outcomes by utilizing a data-driven mindset and analytical skills paired with a creative approach to problem solving

We’re figuring things out as we go, so if you’re someone who needs structure in place, we’re probably not the place for you but if you consider yourself an entrepreneur and want to help figure things out with a smart team of like-minded go getters, this could be your dream career.
“Chaotic at times, Bisnow should put proper policies in place.” – Mario Andretti once said that if things seem under control, you’re probably not going fast enough. We don’t encourage chaos but we do see a healthy amount of it as a result of exciting growth and we’re also not big fans of bureaucracy and find the more policies we implement the more bureaucratic things become.
“Long hours, not a lot of time off, unlimited vacation means no vacation.” – We encourage taking long vacations and time off and we truly believe that those sorts of trips can lead to more productivity when people come back and feel more inspired by new ideas. We do work long hours and for some people that’s not ideal. As entrepreneurs, we have to love what we do or else we wouldn’t be particularly good at it and when you love what you do, you don’t really separate work and play but rather integrate the two.
